In 1974 H.I.M Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia was overthrown in a coup
d'etat. The country was ruled by a Marxist military government for the
ensuing 17 years.
As a lad during this period, living with my family in Addis Ababa, I
recall the mood of uncertainty, fear, and dread that came with the
revolution. This is a song about that time.
